The Nathaniel Ford House at 4899 Ford Road, Elba It was built in 1841 and is located two miles east of Route 298. A one-story wing extension may have once served as a carriage house. Richard Palmer blog.

The old Ford home on the Ford Road (Route 262) two miles east of Route 98, is said to have probably been built by the same mason as the Underhill-Wiswall house because of the similarity of workmanship. It has recently been purchased and is slated for restoration. Excerpt dated 23APR1966 from "Cobblestone Examples Noted in Genesee Recall Construction Over Century Ago

I was in the Ford house on 262 in Elba a long time ago, when it had been abandoned a long time. I wish you were there, because the history was raw and right there for one to witness first hand. The inside had some serious damage, especially in the stairwell going upstairs, as lumber and lathe/plaster had caved down into it. But get this, on an end table, I still recall these old framed family photos still sitting there, untouched! They were of course B&W - looked Victorian or older. Why were they left?
